Just the ticket for the nesting urge

I don’t know about you, but when autumn arrives I feel the nesting urge.

If September is “back to school” time, October is the month of “back home.” The days shorten and we head indoors to get ready for the cold months ahead. After a season of dashing in and out between summer trips and activities, there’s now time to settle in and remember everything we love about our homes. Such appreciation allows room for a critical eye, too—for adjusting a touch of décor, adding new furnishings, or finally getting serious about long-neglected plans for a home remodeling project.

Fortunately, we have just the ticket: The Midwest Home Fall Home & Garden Show returns to the Minneapolis Convention Center the first weekend of October. Since Midwest Home purchased the Fall Home & Garden Show more than a year ago, it’s been our goal to make it the most spectacular home show in Minnesota. Prepare to be inspired: We have more than 140,000 square feet of home remodeling exhibitors, a Million-Dollar Designer Furniture Sale, the National Kitchen and Bath Association High-End Garage Sale, a $100,000 Dream Kitchen Auction, and much more.

This issue includes the official Fall Home & Garden Show program (page 73), your complete source of information on all of the show-associated events, giveaways, and our long list of exhibitors. If there is a show to be seen, this is the one.

Speaking of remodeling, if a kitchen or bath project is in your future, make plans to attend the annual Style Maker Kitchen & Bath series at International Market Square later this month. This event includes showroom tours and a discussion panel on green design, moderated by designer and HGTV star Joshua Foss. All of the details are on page 70.

We hope to see you at the Fall Home & Garden Show. Until then, happy nesting.
