TJB Homes builds stunning home for Minnetonka family featured on ‘Extreme Makeover: Home Edition’
In late August, TJB Homes, Inc. completed a building project that was as incredibly orchestrated as it was generous. The Blaine-based Luxury Home Tour builder constructed a gorgeous new home for the Swenson-Lee family in Minnetonka—in four days—for an episode of ABC-TV’s “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.” The family was nominated for the show after Erik and Vicki Swenson and their three kids took in the children of Vicki’s sister, Teri Lee, who was murdered by her ex-boyfriend in September 2006. The Lee children had lost their father in a car accident a few years earlier.
During the week of the episode’s filming, TJB Homes coordinated the massive undertaking, working around the clock with a team of more than 4,000 workers, vendors, and volunteers to demolish the Swenson-Lees’ old house and build a new 5,600-square foot home in its place. TJB delivered, turning over the keys in just 99 hours—seven hours ahead of schedule.
The home is the largest ever built for “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.” The Swenson-Lees and their new home will be featured on the show’s 100th episode, a special two-hour program that will be broadcast Sunday, November 25. Learn more about the project and see photos online.
